The Man
An Augusta native, Russell Joel Brown comes to us from New York City, where he was an actor, singer, and dancer for Broadway shows. He has appeared in such productions as “Smokey Joe’s Café”, “The Scarlet Pimpernel”, “Big River” and “Ain’t Misbehavin’”. Also to his credit, he has sung for the funerals of such luminaries as Thurgood Marshall, Arthur Ashe, Cab Calloway, and Dizzy Gillespie. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College and studies voice locally with Mr. Bill Toole and Mr. Isaac Holmes. Through his extensive work with various youth arts programs, Mr. Brown is impacting the lives of a new generation of performers. D.
